Banditos for Peace

A few months back we posted a blog about a documentary film titled Invisible Children. The film focuses on the lives of Children who are affected by the war in Northern Uganda.

This weekend Whitney and I will be taking seven teen-agers to an Invisible Children sponsored event called Displace Me. We will be spending the night in huts that we will make from cardboard boxes. Our food will be minimal. We will be in a small area with over 2,500 people. We will be part of a documentary that will be made to give to our political leaders in hopes that they will hear our plea for Americans to care for these abused children in Uganda.

Last Sunday we made T-shirts with a large Red X. The photographs will be attached to letters we will write to our state senator. Even though this is a serious subject, we had a lot of fun making the shirts and are very excited about this weekend.

About me

  • I'm Dove Wedding Photography
  • From South East, United States
  • Whitney Carlson, Peter Carlson and their team take an artistic approach to traditional wedding photography. Our goal is to blend fine-art photography, photojournalistic images, and traditional portraits. To capture the mood you are looking for in your photographs, our team of photographers will strive to get to know you personally before and during the wedding. Working throughout the event with minimal direction and posing allows the bride and groom to relax as we document the sites and emotions of the day. As a team, we have the advantage of capturing all aspects of your wedding day, from the preparation to the farewell, in a way you will remember. View our website here.
