Thanksgiving

While I miss my family, I am very happy to be back here in Nashville! We have been so busy since we got back, but I love it! I enjoy my work so much, it doesn't bother me that we are working till 10 every night. That and the fact that Christmas is coming soon helps as well! We had a lot of fun in Georgia for Thanksgiving, eating WAY TOO MUCH, riding 4-wheelers, playing on the swing, a game of golf, spending the night with Me-maw and Papa Bo, playing with our cousin's super cute puppies, and my favorite, decorating the family Christmas tree. I have a few more photographs to share, but for now you can enjoy this one of my sister Ansley on the swing...

Going out of town

Tonight I am packing up and getting ready to leave for Georgia tomorrow to be with my family for Thanksgiving. Yea!! Peter and I have made the drive between Nashville and Atlanta more than I know, and I am so grateful that it is a beautiful drive. We were in Atlanta last week to see Jeremy Enigk and Cursive play at the Variety Playhouse (it was awesome!), but our trip home took close to 6 hours instead of the 3 1/2 that it usually takes us from my parents house. Traffic in Chattanooga was terrible from the rain and thunderstorms and we didn't move for an hour. I was so frustrated, but once we made it through, the skies opened up and we saw this amazing rainbow peeking through the clouds....

I only got to get a quick snapshot while we were moving with my point and shoot, but I love how the bright colors just pop out from behind the weary trees. It reminded me that no matter what there is always something to be thankful for, it just might be hidden sometimes.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Brittany & Mike

When I received an e-mail from Brittany Hailes about photographing her wedding in Franklin, I remembered that I went to UGA with a Brittany Hailes. Sure enough, after giving her a call, I realized that it was the same Brittany. Brittany knew me before I was married, I was Whitney Orr to her, so she had no idea that she had e-mailed me! We are now going to photograph her wedding at the Factory. Brittany is very creative, so I can't wait to see what she has planned!

It was great seeing Brittany and Mike together for their engagement session- he is just as fun as she is! Brittany hurt her middle finger just before the shoot and had a huge bandage on it, so we got some really fun shots that I can't post on here :) Besides those, here are a few of my favorites...

All the way from Georgia!

Peter and I had such a good time hanging out with Sandi and Scott for their engagement session. Their wedding is in Atlanta next October, but they decided to drive up from Georgia for the weekend to see the sites of Nashville for Scott's birthday. It was a perfect time for us to do the engagement session. I heard later from Sandi that they sat next to Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin and Alison Krauss during dinner at Capital Grille- they couldn't have planned that!

I was a little worried because it had been raining all day, and I thought we would have to post pone the session. However, just as we started to shoot, the sun peeked out from behind the clouds and made all of the wet plants glisten! The fall colors shined, and loved seeing Scott and Sandi just enjoy the day.

Sheri & Chris's Wedding Day

We all had a wonderful time photographing Chris and Sheri's wedding. They are both so laidback and easygoing, and everyone stayed relaxed throughout the whole day. Sheri looked so wonderfully vintage, from her dress, to her hair, to her earrings. She also had some of the most beautiful flowers I have seen! The ceremony was at the Hancock House Bed and Breakfast which looked lovely with paper lanterns hanging everywhere. My favorite photographs are these two at the beginning, when Sheri and Chris saw each other for the first time. You can see how excited Chris was to see her!
