Happy Halloween!

I hope that everyone is having a terrific Halloween today and that you have great plans for tonight! We have a fun costume planned for this evening that I will share tomorrow. For now, I want to show off one of my favorites that we did two years ago... Ghostbusters! Chris is a wood worker, so he and Peter built our custom Proton Packs and Ghost Traps from scratch while Tosha and I made the outfits-

And here's my favorite with our friend Jason... Peter added in the special effects after the fact :)

Have fun!!!

Always Learning

Well, if you are wondering where I've been this past week, I must admit I haven't really been anywhere. This has been our first break from traveling in a while, and it is nice to be home! But being at home is even busier than being gone. Although I love working from home, there are some definite disadvantages- the main one being that our office is just a few steps from our bedroom. Often Peter and I will work past 11:00pm just to get up at 7:00am and start work again! It can be very exhausting, especially now the busy season is in full swing! Since our business is growing so much, we want to speed up our turn around times, and we would like to be able to take a few evenings off as well! So we have begun the process adding new members to our team. Monday night Scott, Karri, and Beth gathered in our dining room with me and we worked till eleven to begin training... do we look like a group of nerds or what! (yes, especially me!) A few of you may remember Karri who was with us when we first started Dove. She then lived in China teaching for a year, and is now back in the states. Karri is actually living with us for the next month to help us through this busy season- and we are so excited to have her! Karri is a blast to be around, she has already helped us out is so many ways! We have a lot of sessions coming up this next week, so look out for a lot of fun things for us to share!

Megan & Sean!

Well, I am still in Nashville finishing up projects. I was going to head back down to the ATL today, but our power was out most of last night. So we have some things to finish today and suspect we will leave early tomorrow morning! But before we leave, I wanted to share an image of Megan and Sean from our photoshoot in Athens, GA the day before their wedding. I've known Megan since college, and she is so much fun, and so stylish! I had this image in my head for months before the shoot, and I worked hard at finding a vintage car to use for it. Thankfully, friends of ours in town had this '64 Impala that they let us borrow. Robert and Mailyn bought the car new when they were married in '64, and it was a great prop for us. I LOVE this one, it is so Megan, from her dress, to her man, to the car!

Surviving Tornadoes

Peter and I have been visiting Peter's Aunt and Uncle the past few days, which included a family shoot that I will share later. We are near Springfield, MO, and it is beautiful country out here! Just about an hour ago, we headed to the basement because the tornado sirens were going off. The storm skipped over us, and we watched the dark clouds holding a rainbow pass on to the next county. The rolling hills were just stunning with the sun peaking through the storm. Peter's cousin, Randy, saw the twister on his way home! We will be back tomorrow night, and I will be leaving for Atlanta again on Friday morning. I love traveling, but I can't wait to be in my own bed for a few days! Peter will be getting back to e-mails when we return!

Jennifer & Matt- the complete story!

I posted an image right after Jennifer and Matt's wedding here, and now we are complete with their entire wedding. When I first arrived at the hotel in Peachtree City, GA, there were fire trucks everywhere, and everyone was standing outside of the hotel! When I finally got a hold of Jennifer, they had snuck back into the hotel and were finishing getting ready. I tried to sneak in after them, but was caught :( Luckily, the fire was nothing serious, and I finally made it up their hotel room. I was expecting Jennifer to be freaking out, but no, she was calm and ready to enjoy her day... and that is exactly what she did! Even though things were running behind because of the fire fiasco, she stayed calm and knew how to get things done! Their wedding at Fayetteville First Baptist was beautiful, and the had such a fun reception! I grew up with Matt, and it was so great to see his family again. My mom still has a picture of me, Matt, his brother Luke, and my sister Jessica all sitting on Santa's lap together! But enough about old photos, here's the ones you've been waiting for...

I love this super cute and super happy picture of Jennifer!

and a super happy Matt!

This is during a toast at the reception... everyone was either laughing or crying the whole time, it was one of the best toasts I have seen!

I love this moment between Jennifer and her Dad...

The DJ at their reception was Kevin Nichols from DKH Entertainment, and he did such a fabulous job. He kept things running smoothly and made sure everyone had a great time... this photograph attests to that!

Is this kid cute or what!!!

And at the end of the night, Jennifer and Matt rode away in a golf cart! For those of you who don't know, Peachtree City is filled with golf carts, and they even have special roads for them around the town.

Thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding, I had a wonderful time!

A two wedding weekend.

After Melanie and Tony's wedding on Saturday, I was able to 2nd shoot again with Gregory Byerline the next day. It was a beautiful Sunday wedding that took place at the Carnton Plantation. I really enjoy being able to work with Gregory when I can! It is always so much fun to see how someone else works and to be able to learn from each other. Here is one of my favorites of the bride from that day:

Melanie & Tony

Two weekends ago we were able to spend our Saturday photographing Melanie & Tony's wedding. Melanie and Tony are both very sweet and laid back and the wedding day was just like that! I absolutely adored Melanie's vintage style dress which she wore just perfectly. Here is one of my favorites of the two of them that I think is just classic:

Congratulations you two!

A fun and crazy week!

It has been over a week since I have posted, but for good reason! This past Saturday I drove down to my hometown of Athens, GA to attend my good friend Megan's bachelorette party. Megan is getting married this Friday and we are excited to be able to photograph her wedding! Tomorrow we will be doing a shoot of just her and Sean around Athens, and we have some fun things up our sleeves for it! Sunday I was able to hang out with my good friend Karri, who used to shoot with Dove. Karri was in China the past year, so it had been forever since I saw her. Then I was off to stay with my sister, Jessica, who just started her first year teaching elementary school. It was so crazy seeing her in her own classroom. She really loves what she does and you can totally tell! I hung out with my other sister, Ansley, last night. She is in her first year of college which is even crazier since I still remember the day she was born! And today I am off with my mom to the Georgia Aquarium, which I can't wait to see. In between all of this, I have been working as much as I can on my brand new MAC book! Here are a few photographs from my week so far... fyi, some of them are from a point and shoot.

Yeah, this is the only one I'm going to share of the Bachelorette party :)

This is Karri... we did a whole series in the middle of a coffee shop downtown. I love this image because it really shows what kind of town Athens is- Notice that no one is paying any attention to us, even while we're laughing hysterically and everyone is quietly studying. You could run around naked and I doubt anyone would notice...

Karri grabbed this one of me... I really like it :)

I have some more of my sister, but I haven't downloaded them yet. I'll share them when I return from the Aquarium!

Chelsea & Matt

Chelsea and Matt had a beautiful wedding at the Belmont Mansion, and we were so excited to be a part of it. They have such a sweet and supportive family, and there were nothing but smiles the whole day. Chelsea found her dress at the White Room in Lebanon, and it was gorgeous! Their reception was at Loews Vanderbilt, and the food was some of the best we have had. Here are a few of my favorites from the day,

I love the vintage feel of this image!

Matt watching Chelsea as she walks down the aisle.

These photographs were fun- when Matt first met Chelsea, he used his cell phone as his pick up line!

Chelsea and Matt are both singers, and this was a beautiful part of the reception as they sang with each other.

I know you guys will live happily ever after!!!

Amber and Brandon!

Amber and Brandon were married last weekend at Two Rivers Mansion, and we were so excited to be there to photograph it! Amber is super creative and added so may little details to the wedding. I can't wait to share some of those! Everything from the flowers to the delicious food was perfect. And she had Mary Alice Sublett to help keep the day running smoothly. I decided to share this simple image because I think it speaks volumes about her wedding... peaceful, beautiful, and joyful.

Congratulations you two!
