Cough, Cough...

This crazy weather has been doing crazy things with my immune system lately! This weekend my sister and her fiance came into town for their engagement session, and unfortunately my body wanted nothing to do with it. But we still braved the damp weather and had a super good time. I'll post one of my favorites a little later this week. I rested up last night, and even though I'm still a bit under the weather, I feel much better. Now enough of this warm weather! I'm ready for a nice consistant cold with little hints of snow. It's almost Christmas, right! I just found this photograph I took last year at my parent's house of the very first Christmas ornament that I made. Growing up, my mom would make all sorts of dough ornaments to put on our tree, like the first one with my initial. Although my mom's looks great, I think the one I made is my favorite. Hope this helps make it feel a bit more like Christmas!

Happy Halloween!

I hope that everyone is having a terrific Halloween today and that you have great plans for tonight! We have a fun costume planned for this evening that I will share tomorrow. For now, I want to show off one of my favorites that we did two years ago... Ghostbusters! Chris is a wood worker, so he and Peter built our custom Proton Packs and Ghost Traps from scratch while Tosha and I made the outfits-

And here's my favorite with our friend Jason... Peter added in the special effects after the fact :)

Have fun!!!

Surviving Tornadoes

Peter and I have been visiting Peter's Aunt and Uncle the past few days, which included a family shoot that I will share later. We are near Springfield, MO, and it is beautiful country out here! Just about an hour ago, we headed to the basement because the tornado sirens were going off. The storm skipped over us, and we watched the dark clouds holding a rainbow pass on to the next county. The rolling hills were just stunning with the sun peaking through the storm. Peter's cousin, Randy, saw the twister on his way home! We will be back tomorrow night, and I will be leaving for Atlanta again on Friday morning. I love traveling, but I can't wait to be in my own bed for a few days! Peter will be getting back to e-mails when we return!

A fun and crazy week!

It has been over a week since I have posted, but for good reason! This past Saturday I drove down to my hometown of Athens, GA to attend my good friend Megan's bachelorette party. Megan is getting married this Friday and we are excited to be able to photograph her wedding! Tomorrow we will be doing a shoot of just her and Sean around Athens, and we have some fun things up our sleeves for it! Sunday I was able to hang out with my good friend Karri, who used to shoot with Dove. Karri was in China the past year, so it had been forever since I saw her. Then I was off to stay with my sister, Jessica, who just started her first year teaching elementary school. It was so crazy seeing her in her own classroom. She really loves what she does and you can totally tell! I hung out with my other sister, Ansley, last night. She is in her first year of college which is even crazier since I still remember the day she was born! And today I am off with my mom to the Georgia Aquarium, which I can't wait to see. In between all of this, I have been working as much as I can on my brand new MAC book! Here are a few photographs from my week so far... fyi, some of them are from a point and shoot.

Yeah, this is the only one I'm going to share of the Bachelorette party :)

This is Karri... we did a whole series in the middle of a coffee shop downtown. I love this image because it really shows what kind of town Athens is- Notice that no one is paying any attention to us, even while we're laughing hysterically and everyone is quietly studying. You could run around naked and I doubt anyone would notice...

Karri grabbed this one of me... I really like it :)

I have some more of my sister, but I haven't downloaded them yet. I'll share them when I return from the Aquarium!

Friends and Fun!

Often when I hang out with friends, my camera stays behind- Many times because I just don't think about it! But this past weekend my camera was with me, and when that happens I can't help but take photographs! Our friend Zac had an end of summer bash on Sunday with fajitas, drinks, and a pinata stuffed with candy! That's Peter below trying to break it. And check out little Evie also, who I took more pictures of than anyone of course! If you haven't hit a pinata in a while, I highly recommend it for your next party!
